As 2019 came to a close, college applications, a new school year, and an ever-changing world flurried around us. We plan on setting up a benefit concert to raise money and awareness to those suffering in Australia. Being part of the young community, I am inspired by those even younger—Greta Thunberg —who have spoken up. It is now that we need to work as a whole. We hope to help women and girls in Australia who need our help now more than ever.

Today we have organized all of our clothes to bring to the Boys and Girls Club in Ventura where we will donate roughly six boxes of clothes we’ve been given throughout the past couple months. We are hoping to plan an event soon!

This day not only marked my last day of school, but the day we left for Costa Rica with surfboards, our own bags and most importantly, 100 pounds of clothing we would bring down there for sale at a much lower cost. Once sold, the money made from the clothing would be distributed to the women who need it in the form of supplies and materials.

We were invited to set up boxes during a backyard clothing sale in Thousand Oaks where we filled our two boxes we had brought and left with even more filled bags. People coming to shop had brought donations, not only that but a few of the sellers donated everything they had left at the end.

We set up boxes before a concert in Ojai at the Underground Exchange where we filled an entire box full of donated clothes.
